Dr. Jill Biden, the First Lady of the United States, is the USS Delaware (SSN 791) Ship's Sponsor. The Ship's Sponsor is named by the Secretary of the Navy. It is a great honor to be named the Sponsor of a United States Navy Submarine. Dr. Biden will participate in some or all of the milestones in the life of the Delaware.
