CDR Rob Low

Commanding Officer, USS Delaware (SSN 791), 2022 to 2024

Commander Rob Low, from Avon, Ohio graduated from Michigan State University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering also holds a Master of Engineering Management from Old Dominion University. At sea, Commander Low served as a division officer onboard USS KEY WEST (SSN 722) from 2006 to 2010, during which he completed two western Pacific deployments. He served as the Engineer Officer onboard USS Bremerton (SSN 698) from 2012 to 2015, during which he completed one western Pacific deployment. As Executive Officer on USS ALABAMA (B) (SSBN 731) from 2017 to 2019 he completed two strategic deterrent patrols and a dry docked extended refit period. Ashore, Commander Low served as an instructor at Naval Submarine Training Center Pacific, as the S6G/S6W/S1B fleet technical assistant to the director of the Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program, and as a Senior Policy Analyst within the Office of the Secretary of Defense. His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy Achievement Medal (four awards) as well as multiple unit and service awards. He is most proud of being part of incredible crew's that have earned numerous Squadron battle 'E' awards, an Arleigh Burke award, and an Omaha Trophy. He is married to Megan Bissell of Escanaba, Michigan and they have two children, Aziza and Maxwell.
